Hemlock & Birch is a close-knit group of professional wedding photographers based in Central Massachusetts. What separates us from large photography studios is that our team of local photographers are able to offer personalized attention to each and every one of our couples, ensuring that you feel heard and valued and your vision for your day shines throughout the entire process.

We are owned and operated by a married couple, Joe & Elin, who are wedding photographers! We know what it is like to plan a wedding and have many years of experience behind the scenes on a wedding days. We have put together a dedicated team of local professional photographers who we know and trust to capture stunning photographs that you will cherish for a lifetime.

Our team is dedicated to capturing every little detail, from the flowers and décor to the smiles and laughter shared between you and your loved ones while also ensuring that you feel comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process.
What is your photographic style?
Our goal is to produce timeless photos for you to remember your day. We use true to life colors in order to avoid photography trends that will make photos look dated. We shoot with a mix of styles. We incorporate photojournalistic, editorial, candid and lightly posed shots to create our signature timeless look.
During weddings there are times when we are observing, times when we are directing, and times when we are fading into the background. We realize that most people have not had professional photos taken and we do give direction when working with the couple, wedding party and families so you don’t have to worry about feeling awkward or not knowing what to do. Our direction will help you look your best and allow us to capture amazing photos of you on your day. We capture all of the important moments as they happen without drawing attention. It is your day and we want the focus to be on you!
For engagement sessions we will get to know you, give you some direction, and have fun with you to get those natural poses and expressions.
When will I get my photos?
Not long! Engagement photos will be ready for download within two to four weeks of the session. Wedding photos will be ready four to six weeks after the wedding. If you are interested in receiving your photos even faster you can add-on a Priority Edit.
Do you make Albums and Prints?
Yes! In this digital world we love creating tangible memories of your big day. We think of all of our albums and prints as treasured family heirlooms and are honored to design these for you and your family.
We offer a line of heirloom-quality albums, canvases and prints that can be added on to your package or purchased through your gallery.
Who will photograph our wedding?
Your wedding will be photographed by one of our experienced team members. We’ve hand-selected our team of local professional wedding photographers to give you the very best experience possible.
Will I get a chance to talk with my photographer before the wedding?
Absolutely! Our photographers are excited to get to know you and your partner and discuss your vision for your wedding day. We believe in building personal connections with our couples to ensure the best possible outcome on your big day. You will have a chance to meet with your photographer to go over all of the details. If you choose to add an Engagement Session you will get even more one on one time with your photographer!
How do we receive our photos?
All weddings and engagement sessions include one year of online hosting of a customized online gallery of downloadable, high resolution photos that you can share with family and friends.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes! We love photographing engagement sessions because we feel like it helps us to get to know you and it helps you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. After you book your wedding we will send you info on how to add an engagement session to your package and schedule a time and place for your photos. Engagement sessions are typically one hour long and take place within 20 miles of Worcester, MA.
Are our photos available in Black & White?
We love the timeless look of black & white photos and that is why we offer the option to add a black & white gallery to all of our packages and engagement sessions!
