In addition to our familiarity with the grounds, we are also friendly with the staff and in-house DJs. This is important because all wedding venues do things a little differently (when cake cutting happens, where the couple goes after the ceremony, etc.) and our experience at Fern Hill Barn means we know what to expect and when and won't miss any important shots. Throughout the day your photographer works closely with the venue staff and the DJ to be sure things are staying on schedule and your day is perfect! Our friendly relationship with these key people makes for a relaxed and stress-free wedding day.

What is included with our photography collection?
Every Hemlock & Birch Studios collection includes more than wedding day photography. From the moment you book, you'll receive support from our studio manager along with access to your private client portal, where you'll find planning guides, suggested photo lists, questionnaires, and important wedding information all in one place.
Before your wedding, you'll meet with your photographer to review your timeline, discuss your priorities, and finalize key photo lists so everything feels organized and stress-free on the wedding day.
After the wedding, you'll receive a curated collection of professionally edited, high-resolution photographs delivered through a customized online gallery with unlimited downloads, print release, and one year of hosting.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes! We love photographing engagement sessions because we feel like it helps us to get to know you and it helps you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. After you book your wedding we will send you info on how to add an engagement session to your package and schedule a time and place for your photos. Engagement sessions are typically one hour long.
Do you offer videography?
Yes! We have a team of trusted videographers and we are happy to offer video collections that are the perfect way to remember your day! Our video collections are an upgrade to your wedding photography package and subject to availability.
When will we get our photos?
Not long! Engagement photos will be ready for download within two to four weeks of the session. Wedding photos will be ready four to six weeks after the wedding. If you are interested in receiving your photos even faster you can add-on a Priority Edit and/or a Sneak Peek.
How do we receive our photos?
Your photos will be delivered through a customized online gallery with one year of hosting. Each gallery is carefully curated and organized by the different parts of your wedding day, making it easy to relive and share your celebration.
Your high-resolution photos are professionally edited and color corrected, ready to download, share, and print. The gallery includes unlimited downloads, a print release, and options for ordering professional-quality prints, wall art, and albums directly through the gallery.
Backup flash drives are also available as an optional upgrade.
Who will photograph our wedding?
Hemlock & Birch Studios works with a small, trusted group of experienced local wedding photographers who are familiar with Fern Hill Barn and share our standards for both photography and client experience.
When you book, our Studio Manager becomes your main point of contact and will guide you through every step of the process. As your wedding day approaches, we'll thoughtfully pair you with one of our photographers based on availability and the needs of your celebration. This approach allows Fern Hill couples to benefit from exclusive photography collections and preferred pricing while still receiving the personalized service, consistency, and thoughtful coverage our studio is known for.
Will we get a chance to talk with our photographer before the wedding?
Absolutely! Our photographers are excited to get to know you and learn more about your vision for the day. We believe that building a personal connection leads to more natural, meaningful photographs. Before your wedding, you'll meet with your photographer to review your timeline, discuss your priorities, and go over all the details of your celebration.
Along the way, our Studio Manager, who is also a wedding photographer, is available to answer questions, help with planning, and make sure everything stays on track. Together, we work to ensure you feel comfortable, prepared, and excited for your wedding day.
How many photos will we receive?
The number of photos will vary depending on the hours of coverage, number of guests, size of wedding party, details, events that take place, and the number of photographers you hire. There is no set number of photos. Typically we would expect our 8 hour collection to have ~700 photos, our 7 hour collection to have ~500 photos, our 5 hour collection to have ~350 photos, and our 4 hour collection to have ~300 photos. These are approximations and there is no cut off or set number. Engagement session galleries typically include 50-100 photos.
Do you make Albums and Prints?
Yes! In this digital world we love creating tangible memories of your big day. We think of all of our albums and prints as treasured family heirlooms and are honored to design these for you and your family.
We offer a line of heirloom-quality albums, canvases and prints that can be added on to your package or purchased through your gallery.
Are our photos available in Black & White?
We love the timeless look of black & white photos and that is why we offer the option to add a black & white gallery to all of our packages and engagement sessions!
Can we upgrade our package?
Of course! As you plan your wedding you might realize that you would like a more customized experience. We offer the perfect upgrades to make your day even more amazing! From engagement sessions, to additional hours, to custom designed albums there are so many ways to remember your day forever! We do ask that if you are adding of a second photographer you do so 6+ weeks before your wedding so we can ensure availability.
