Parasols, Pastels, and Springtime

Early May is one of our favorite times of year at Fern Hill Barn. The grass has finally turned green, the apple blossoms are blooming, and spring flowers are everywhere you look. Kaylee and Christian's wedding day arrived with soft overcast skies that allowed us to take photos all around the property throughout the day. Combined with the fresh spring colors, it made for a beautiful setting for their celebration.

Their color palette felt like spring brought to life. Bridesmaids wore a variety of soft pastel shades while the florals featured beautiful seasonal colors that complemented the gardens and blooming trees around the property. The groomsmen looked classic in blue suits, creating a timeless look that fit the day perfectly.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the way Kaylee honored her mom. During the ceremony, a reserved chair held a bouquet created by the bridesmaids in her memory. Later in the evening, Kaylee presented the bouquet to her grandmother, creating a touching moment that meant so much to their family.

Although Kaylee and Christian chose not to do a first look with each other, they still made great use of their time before the ceremony. We photographed separate wedding party photos and many family photos ahead of time, allowing them to spend more time enjoying their celebration later in the day. Kaylee did share a first look with her grandfather, which was such a sweet moment and one of the highlights of the day.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds slipped away for private vows before exploring the grounds for couple's photos. With the apple blossoms in bloom and fresh spring greenery throughout the property, there was no shortage of beautiful locations for portraits.

Their reception embraced an adorable garden party and tea party theme that fit the season perfectly. From the décor to the overall atmosphere, every detail felt welcoming and full of personality. Kaylee and her bridesmaids even carried parasols for photos, adding a fun and elegant touch that looked right at home among the spring blooms.

As the evening continued, guests filled the dance floor and celebrated with the newlyweds. Before the night was over, we snuck away for sunset and nighttime photos around the property. The soft evening light and glowing barn provided the perfect ending to an already beautiful day.

Congratulations, Kaylee and Christian! Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a wonderful celebration. We wish you both all the best as you begin this next chapter together.
