A Rainy May Wedding at Fern Hill Barn in Spencer, Massachusetts
Some weddings are remembered for perfect weather. Carolyn and Doug's wedding at Fern Hill Barn will be remembered for something much more important: the people who gathered to celebrate them.
It was one of the rainiest days of May, with steady rain throughout much of the day, but it never put a damper on the celebration. Family and friends arrived ready to enjoy every moment, and Carolyn and Doug never let the weather distract from what mattered most.
They shared a sweet first look in Fern Hill Barn's greenhouse. With the rain falling outside, it was the perfect spot for them to share a quiet moment together before the festivities began. Their ceremony followed and was personal and meaningful, surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
Afterward, we made use of the covered gazebo area behind the barn for family and wedding party photos. Even with the rain, Fern Hill offered plenty of beautiful spots for portraits. Carolyn and Doug were also willing to brave the weather for a few outdoor photos, and we're so glad they did. The soft light and rain-soaked grounds created a unique backdrop that perfectly captured the atmosphere of the day.
As the evening continued, guests gathered under the tent for dinner, dancing, and plenty of celebrating. The rain continued outside, but inside there was nothing but laughter, conversation, and a packed dance floor.
