Making the Most of a Rainy Wedding Day
A little rain wasn’t going to change a thing for Emily and Zachary’s August wedding at Fern Hill Barn. Even with soggy weather throughout the day, they made the most of every part of their celebration and still spent plenty of time outside around the Fern Hill grounds.
When we arrived, Emily and Zachary were already dressed and ready for the day. Before the ceremony, they shared a quiet first touch and read private vows to one another without seeing each other. It was a nice way to have a few minutes together before everything officially began.
They kept their plans for an outdoor ceremony, surrounded by their family and friends. Afterward, we headed right into photos during cocktail hour, starting with family and the wedding party before taking Emily and Zachary around the property for their couple photos. The rain left everything green and a little soggy, but they didn’t hesitate to walk around the grounds and make the most of it.
Once everyone headed inside, the reception was all about celebrating with the people closest to them. Emily and Zachary shared their first dance, cut their cake, and each had a parent dance. They also played the shoe game, which brought plenty of laughs before the dance floor opened for the night.
Rainy wedding days don’t have to mean giving up the plans you were excited about. Emily and Zachary embraced the weather, spent plenty of time outside, and ended their day celebrating and dancing with their family and friends.
