Erin and Michael celebrated their late August wedding at Fern Hill Barn surrounded by their family and friends.
The day began with Erin getting ready before sharing a special peek with her young sons and her dad at the back gazebo. Erin and Michael chose not to do a first look, saving the first time they saw each other for the ceremony.
There were several thoughtful ways Erin’s mom was remembered throughout the day. A chair at the ceremony was reserved in her honor, decorated with flowers and photographs, keeping her memory close during such an important part of the wedding.
The ceremony also included a surprise for Michael. During the processional, a recording played of the kids talking to their dad. Michael had no idea it was coming, and his reaction made for an emotional moment before Erin made her way down the aisle. Michael’s sister officiated the ceremony, adding another personal connection to the day.
After the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour while we stayed outside with Erin and Michael for their couple portraits, family photos, and wedding party photos.
Once everyone moved into the reception, Erin and Michael shared their first dance, cut their cake, and listened to toasts from some of the people closest to them. We also made time for several group photos, including one with every guest gathered together with Erin and Michael. Parent dances followed before the dance floor opened for the evening.
Before the light disappeared completely, we snuck Erin and Michael outside for a few blue hour portraits around the property. It gave them a few quiet minutes together before heading back inside.
From the personal touches during the ceremony to a reception spent dancing and celebrating with their favorite people, Erin and Michael’s late August wedding was a beautiful day to photograph.
