A Relaxed Summer Wedding at Fern Hill Barn
Some wedding days are all about slowing down, enjoying the moment, and spending time with the people who matter most. That was exactly the feel of Erin and Peter's wedding at Fern Hill Barn in Spencer, Massachusetts.
Rather than starting the day with getting ready photographs, Erin and Peter chose to begin their photography coverage with a first look in the greenhouse. It gave them a quiet moment together before the celebration began and allowed plenty of time to explore the beautiful Fern Hill grounds for portraits.
We wandered throughout the property, stopping at some of our favorite locations along the way. From the ferns and the swing to the back gazebo and several other scenic spots around the venue, the relaxed timeline gave us the opportunity to create a wonderful variety of photographs before guests arrived.
After portraits, everyone gathered for a beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Following the ceremony, we captured family photographs before spending a few minutes with their wedding party. Erin and Peter kept things simple with just a maid of honor and best man, making the portrait portion of the day fun, quick, easy, and stress free.
The celebration continued inside with dinner, nice toasts, and dancing. One especially memorable moment came during the parent dances when Erin's dad and a friend performed the song for their dance live, making it even more personal. Peter also shared a wonderful dance with his mom before everyone filled the dance floor.
As the evening light softened, Erin and Peter slipped away for a few sunset and blue hour photographs. The peaceful evening and beautiful skies made for the perfect ending to portrait time before they headed back inside to celebrate with their family and friends for the rest of the night.
It was a joyful, relaxed day from beginning to end, and we were so happy to be part of it. Congratulations again, Erin and Peter! We wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
